What is TightVNC?
TightVNC is a free remote control software package. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you
would do it sitting in the front of that computer. TightVNC is:

- useful in administration, tech support, education, and for many other purposes,
- cross-platform, available for Windows and Unix, with Java client included,
- compatible with standard VNC software, conforming to RFB protocol specifications.

January 31, 2011 – Business-friendly license for TightVNC Server version 2
While TightVNC Server version 2 for Windows is available under the GNU GPL terms, that's
not the only licensing option available. We can offer the source code under a
business-friendly license if you would like to include it in your commercial software. So we
have published a document which describes such commercial licensing in detail, with all terms

January 18, 2011 – Tight Decoder is available commercially
If you would like to support Tight encoding in your proprietary VNC-compatible viewer, there
