August 15, 2024 – Remote Ripple for Windows 1.2.0 Is Out

We're excited to announce a major update to Remote Ripple for Windows, our new generation free VNC viewer. Version 1.2.0 introduces a redesigned user interface aligned with MightyViewer, multi-monitor support, and new desktop scaling options. The app can now remember up to 100 connections, save VNC passwords, and offers improved error handling for smoother troubleshooting.

August 14, 2024 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.85 Released

We've released a minor update to TightVNC for Windows, addressing connection issues in Windows XP that were introduced in the previous version. If you experience problems with version 2.8.84 under Windows XP, upgrade to this latest version.

May 4, 2023 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.81 Released

GlavSoft has released TightVNC version 2.8.81 for Windows. This release repairs file transfers in RDP sessions, and changes the protocol extension for enabling multi-monitor handling. This will allow the upcoming versions of MightyViewer and Remote Ripple show individual monitors when connected to remote desktops with multiple monitors attached.

April 6, 2023 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.79 Is Out

GlavSoft has released TightVNC 2.8.79, which includes a bug fix for file transfers on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7. If you're experiencing issues with file transfers, we recommend upgrading to the latest version. Read the full announcement.

March 28, 2023 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.78 Released

TightVNC version 2.8.78 for Windows is now available. This release includes important fixes to repair compatibility with TigerVNC, along with enhancements to Direct3D screen grabbing performance. Additionally, the zlib library has been updated to the latest version. It is recommended that all users upgrade to this latest version to experience improved stability and performance.

February 18, 2023 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.75 Released

This update fixes a number of known problems in both server and viewer parts. Also, zlib compression library has been updated to its current version – this should fix potential security issues found in previous versions of the library. We highly encourage you to upgrade all installations of TightVNC to this latest version. Read the detailed change log here.

March 15, 2022 – Remote Core SDK (.NET Viewer) v2022.1.1: Supporting .NET 5.0 and 6.0

Now, in the SDK, .NET 5.0 and .NET 6.0 are supported for the Core component, WPF and WinForms. Also, we've added the WPF FileTransferControl to easily implement file transfer functionality in a WPF application, and made a few breaking changes in WPF RemoteDesktopControl and Core extensions.

February 15, 2022 – MightyViewer Release 1.3.1: New Features and Call for Your Feedback

September 17, 2021 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.63 Released

Most importantly, this update fixes a severe security issue in the TightVNC Viewer code (only Viewer part is vulnerable, Server is not affected). April 19, 2020 – Remote Core SDK 2020.1.1 for iOS, iPadOS and macOS Released

New version includes a bunch of improvements and fixes, including improvement of zoom and scrolling, and ability to control large displays from older devices. Remote Core SDK allows developers to integrate TightVNC Viewer components in their own software. See more information here.

April 19, 2020 – Remote Ripple 3.0.9 for iOS and iPadOS Released

We've improved zoom and scrolling of the remote desktop, making these operations more intuitive and artifacts-free. Also, now Remote Ripple supports iOS Dark Mode correctly. Get it in the App Store!

October 23, 2019 – TightVNC for Windows 2.8.27 Released

This version adds performance improvements and a number of fixes. It does not introduce major features, because most of our work goes to another branch of development, to our new cross-platform codebase (upcoming version 3.0). March 25, 2015 – Remote Core SDK: .NET Viewer

We are glad to introduce our newest addition to the TightVNC product family: Remote Core SDK. It's a Software Development Kit, a set of libraries that implements TightVNC connectivity, and hides all the complexity of TightVNC protocol behind a simple and convenient API.
The first component we are offering today is the .NET Viewer SDK. It allows you to easily add TightVNC Viewer functionality to your .NET-based software. If you are interested, please see information here.

October 2, 2014 – Remote Ripple 2.1 Released

Remote Ripple is our VNC-compatible remote desktop client for Android. Version 2.1 adds German and Spanish localizations, adds support for external mouse, improves user experience and overall stability of the application. Install Remote Ripple now!

TightVNC Java Viewer version 2 is on the final stages of development and will be publicly released in the nearest weeks. It will be available both as free software (GNU GPL) and commercially. Commercial licensing will allow to link its components with proprietary programs. Please read more information here.

January 31, 2011 – Business-friendly license for TightVNC Server version 2

While TightVNC Server version 2 for Windows is available under the GNU GPL terms, that's not the only licensing option available. We can offer the source code under a business-friendly license if you would like to include it in your commercial software. So we have published a document which describes such commercial licensing in detail, with all terms and prices included. Read more information here.

January 26, 2011 – TightVNC installation script is freely available

TightVNC installation script has been publicly released and added to the downloads page. It's available under the terms of the GNU GPL license, just like TightVNC itself. Note that TightVNC v.2 installers have been built with NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System).
